Berti, Megan Mezzo-soprano
Megan Berti, mezzo-soprano, is a senior opera major at California State University, Long Beach. She studies with Shigemi Matsumoto. Berti has sung in chorus since the age of 10 and studied with Ruth Onstadt through high school. She has toured across Europe and Australia with the Contra Costa Children’s Chorus, the Miramonte High School choirs, and the CSULB University Choir. At CSULB she has performed as Sesto in Handel’s Giulio Cesare and as sister Helen Prejean in Jake Heggie’s Dead Man Walking. She also appeared there in Bernstein’s Candide and Monteverdi’s L’Orfeo as well as in performances of Mozart’s Mass in C Minor and Beethoven’s 9th Symphony. Last summer she participated in the SongFest art song program at Pepperdine University and the International Lyric Academy in Italy. (3/2009)
